Voyagers win game 2 in 6 game series versus the Range Riders
(Great Falls, Mt.) The Great Falls Voyagers (19-13) after winning game one with some last inning heroics, hoped to get a win in game two versus the Glacier Range Riders (12-19) without as much anxiety. Break out the heartburn medicine because it was going to be another barn burner.
The starting pitchers in this contest lead a person to believe it might be a high scoring game as the Glacier pitcher, Dawson Day, had an era of 9.00 while the Voyagers pitcher, Breonn Pooler, had an era of 12.91. Both pitchers stepped up and kept it a scoreless game through five innings. Pooler only allowing 5 hits through five, striking out three and walking one.
The Voyagers broke through in the 6th inning as Riley Jepson drew a walk and moved to second when Derek Kolbush got hit by a pitch. Christopher De-Guzman drew a base on balls to load the bases for Myles McKisic with two out. Myles came through in the clutch sending a fly ball to right center. With two out all the runners left on contact and when it was all said and done, the bases were clear and Myles was standing on first with a 3 run single.
The Range Riders were able to score one run in the 7th off of relief pitcher Brad Demco and one more in the 9th off of Josh Gainer. That was all they could muster though leaving the final score with a Voyager win, 3-2.
The Voyagers play game 3 of the 6 game series Friday night at 7 p.m. with gates opening at 6. Get your 4th of July weekend started right by coming to Centene Stadium to watch the Voyagers get another win!!
