Voyagers drop game two of six game series
(Great Falls, Mt.) In sports they often say after a big come from behind win, there may be a let down. That must have been what happened to the Great Falls Voyagers (10-4) on Wednesday night as they lost to the Glacier Range Riders (6-7) 14-0.
The Voyagers starting pitcher, Alexander Castro came out strong in the first inning striking out one and inducing ground balls to have a scoreless start. That ended in the second inning however as the Range Riders were able to put up 5 runs in the second on 5 hits.
Unlike most nights the Voyagers were not able to answer, although they had runners at first and third with one out. A double play ended that promise of some runs in the second inning however. The Range Riders scored in every inning until the 5th with 1 in the third, and two in the fourth.
Relief pitcher, Tyler Naumann, was able to keep the Range Riders off the score board in the 5th and 6th inning. The Range Riders bats came back to life in the seventh scoring 3 runs, and followed that up with 1 in the 8th and 2 runs in the ninth.
The Voyagers were only able to accumulate 6 runs on the evening compared to 20 for Glacier, and ended up falling 14-0. The Voyagers will attempt to right the ship on Thursday night as game three of this six game series will be held at Centene Stadium. Game starts at 7 p.m. with doors opening at 6 p.m. Catch the pregame action at network1sports.com with pre game interviews and starting lineups. See you at the game!!
