Voyagers Offense Stays Hot in Win vs Paddleheads
Voyagers Clinch Series Split in Missoula
The Voyagers strong hitting was on display yet again in Game 4 against the Paddleheads. The offense tallied a season high 16 hits and scored 13 runs, which is the second most in a game this season. The Voyagers scoring started in the top of the 2nd inning when Eddie McCabe hit an RBI single that scored Riley Jepson. In the top of the 3rd, Michael Deeb singled to right bringing home a run, and Tyler Krabbe doubled to right scoring Deeb. In the top of the 5th, Riley Jepson and Derek Kolbush singled scoring 3 runs in the inning putting the Voyagers up 6-3. The Paddleheads once again took advantage of the smallest ballpark in the Pioneer League (309ft to left field and 287ft to right field), and connected for 2 home runs in the game to even the score 6-6 going into the top of the 7th. In the top of the 7th, McCabe drew a bases loaded walk to bring home a run and from then on the Voyagers never looked back. In the top of the 8th, the Voyagers scored 6 runs and broke the game wide open. This proved to be an insurmountable lead for the Paddleheads to over come as the Voyagers won 13-8.
Pablo Arevola pitched a great game going 6 innings, striking out 5, and giving up 6 earned runs. 4 of the earned runs came off of two 2-run home runs that would have surely stayed in the ballpark at Centene Stadium. Over 2 games Arevalo has pitched 14 innning, striking out 9 batters and has a 3.86 ERA.
Michael Deeb secured his first 4 hit game of the season going 4 for 5. He drove in 2 runs and scored 3 himself. This stellar performance gives Deeb a .306 average with 1 home run, 8 runs batted in and 10 runs scored on the season.
