Voyagers Take Game 2 After Dropping Game 1 Against Paddleheads

After dropping game 1 of the six game series to Missoula 4-2, the Voyagers put together a strong outing to win game 2. Behind the great pitching of Hunter Dollander (2-0), the Voyagers came to hit. Scoring 5 runs in the 3rd to help them out to a 7-0 lead going into the bottom of the 6th inning. Andy Atwood (1) started off the 3rd with a home run to right field. Then with the bases juiced, Eddie McCabe singled to left bringing home a run. Still with no outs in the inning and bases loaded, Zane Zurbrugg walked bringing in another run to make the score 4-0. Adam Oviedo steps up and grounds into a double play moving a runner to 3rd and scoring another run putting the Voyagers up 5-0. Breydon Daniel (4-5 on the night) then singles to right scoring McCabe. The Voyagers batted around in the 3rd which brought Zane back to the plate who hits a double and brings in a run to make the score 7-0. 

Hunter Dollander put on a show with another great start. Coming off taking a no-hitter into the 7th inning in his first start, Dollander started off red hot. Dollander didn't give up a hit until the bottom of the 3rd inning and was pitching a shutout going into the 6th inning. Dollander went 6.1 gave up 5 hits 3 runs, 2 earned, and struck out 8. This outing makes Dollander 2-0 on the season with a 1.35 ERA over 13.1 innings pitched. Dollander has 12 strikeouts while only walking 1 batter, and has kept opponents batting .125 over his 2 starts.

Even with the hot start, the Paddleheads did not back down. It started with a Jayson Newman home run in the bottom of the sixth to cut the lead to 7-1. The Paddleheads then scored 3 runs in the bottom of the 7th to cut the Voyagers lead to 3. But the Voyagers didn't back down and scored 1 run in the top of the 8th to extend the lead 8-4. That would prove to be the winning run, but not before Missoula scored 3 more runs in the bottom of the 8th to make the score 8-7. In the top of the 9th, the Voyagers added an insurance run to go uo 9-7 and help Montana Quigley secure his second save of the season.
