Orbit's Report: 2026 Season Signings
Matt Fernandez
Fernandez is joining the voyage as a Miami, Florida native and right-handed reliever with a strong mix of durability and strikeout stuff.
Across four seasons, including time at the University of Pittsburgh, he totaled over 220 innings with 192 strikeouts. He also competed in the Cape Cod Baseball League with the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox in 2023.
Fernandez made his professional debut with the Florence Y’alls and brings valuable experience to the Voyagers pitching staff.
DeMarckus Smiley
Smiley is joining the team after a standout run through the collegiate and summer ranks. The Selma, Alabama native competed in the MLB Draft League and earned a spot in the Swingman Classic during All-Star Weekend.
He wrapped up his college career at Alabama State after winning a 2024 conference championship with Grambling State, and shined in the College Station Regional with a .429 average.
Sebastian Cabeza
Cabeza joins the Voyagers after a strong two-year college run at Jackson State and Ave Maria, where he totaled 75 hits and 45 RBIs with a .382 OBP across 100 games.
In 2024, he posted a .407 OBP at Jackson State and added summer experience in the Northwoods League. He followed it up in 2025 with 31 hits, 18 RBIs, and 3 home runs at Ave Maria.
Joseph Carbone
Joseph is joining us after a phenomenal season in the MLB Draft League last summer. Appearing in 22 games for the Trenton Thunder as a relief pitcher, Carbone struck out 22 batters in 28.2 innings pitched, while not allowing a single home run all season long.
A native of Houston, TX, Joseph played college ball at Abilene Christian University, where he pitched in 5 games last Spring.
Chas Wheatley
Chas is joining the voyage following a stellar collegiate career at the University of Iowa. A key piece of the Hawkeyes’ bullpen, Wheatley recorded 28 strikeouts across 24 innings last spring while posting a 3.70 ERA.
A native of Edmonton, Alberta, Wheatley’s baseball journey has also included time in both the Western Canadian League and the West Coast League, where he suited up for the Sylvan Lake Gulls and the Edmonton Riverhawks.
Raisei Nakamura
Raisei is coming to Great Falls following two seasons in the Miami Marlins organization. Last year in the Dominican Summer League, he tossed 18.2 innings in 12 games, striking out 12 batters while only allowing a single home run.
A native of Takaoka, Japan, Nakamura’s baseball journey began with two seasons in the Japan Western League’s Hiroshima Carp, where he appeared in 8 games.
Chris Peguero
Chris is joining us after a four-year collegiate career at the University of Dayton, where he was a formidable presence on the mound for the Flyers. Last spring, he tossed 84 innings, striking out 95 batters while issuing just 25 walks, and recorded five wins on the season.
A native of Boston, Massachusetts, Chris now looks to take the next step in his baseball journey.
Dylan Wanat
Dylan is joining the Voyagers after a strong collegiate career that concluded at Erskine College. Last season, he batted .299 in 48 games, blasting 14 home runs and driving in 45 RBIs while posting a 1.108 OPS.
A native of Williamsville, New York, Dylan’s baseball journey has included stops in both the Appalachian League and the Perfect Game Collegiate League, where he spent time with the Watertown Rapids and Danville Otterbots.
Ryne Guida
Ryne is going the team after a prolific collegiate career that concluded at Florida International University. In 2024, he earned Conference USA First-Team All-Conference honors after being named Second-Team All-Conference the previous season.
A native of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Ryne had a phenomenal 2024 campaign with FIU. In 57 games, he batted .335 with 9 home runs and 56 RBIs, posting an impressive .956 OPS.
Ryne made his professional debut last summer in the Frontier League, appearing in four games with the Ottawa Titans.
Vincent Temesvary
Temesvary is joining the team following a strong collegiate career that concluded at Gonzaga University, where he earned All–West Coast Conference Honorable Mention honors in 2024. During that season, he led the Bulldogs in total bases (83) and home runs. A native of Los Angeles, California, Temesvary began his collegiate career at Cal State Dominguez Hills. Over two seasons, he hit .359 with 10 home runs and posted a 1.012 OPS, earning ABCA/Rawlings NCAA Division II All–Region West First and Second Team honors during his time there. Temesvary also spent two summers in the Northwoods League as a member of the Kokomo Jackrabbits, gaining valuable summer league experience.
Will Rogers
Rogers is joining the Voyagers following an impressive collegiate career that most recently concluded at the University of Michigan.
Last spring, Rogers earned First-Team All-Big Ten honors while serving as the Wolverines’ primary closer, recording 44 strikeouts to just two walks on the mound.
A native of St. Louis Park, Minnesota, Rogers began his college baseball journey at Arizona State University, where a strong 2022 campaign earned him a spot in the prestigious Cape Cod Baseball League that summer. He went on to appear in 10 games for the Wareham Gatemen during the CCBL season.
Jordan Hamberg
The Livingston, NJ native returns for the 2026 season after appearing in 8 games in 2025 A 3-year starter at Coppin State, Hamberg finished his collegiate career as a Gonzaga Bulldog where he had an .867 OPS in 46 games played. He began his professional career with the Voyagers later that summer.
Kyle Schmack
The Wanatah, Indiana native returns for the 2026 season after being one of our most consistent bats last year. A standout at South Central High School in both football and baseball, Kyle went on to star at Valparaiso University, playing for his dad, Head Coach Brian Schmack. During his time at Valpo, he hit over .380 with 35 home runs across 209 career games, establishing himself as one of the program’s top offensive threats. He began his professional career with the Chicago Dogs of the American Association before joining the Voyagers in mid-July. Kyle delivered steady production all season long — never going hitless in back-to-back games and finishing August on a nine-game hitting streak.
Kendal Ewell
The talented outfielder comes to us after an impressive college career — starting at Eastern Kentucky University, transferring to the University of Kentucky, and finishing at the University of Illinois-Chicago. At UIC, he was named an ABCA/Rawlings Division I All-American, NCBWA District Player of the Year, Joe Carter MVC Player of the Year, and MVC Newcomer of the Year, while leading the conference in batting average (.390)!
Josh Lanham
Josh comes to Great Falls after an outstanding career at Lenoir-Rhyne University, where he became just the second All-American in program history, setting the school's single-season wins record with 11 victories, a 2.40 ERA, and 112 strikeouts in 2022. This past summer, Josh also took his talents to the Frederick Keys of the MLB Draft League — showcasing his skills on the mound and competing against top collegiate talent.
Jacob Elizondo
Jacob started his career at Temple College and continued to perform at St. Mary's University, where he hit .346 with 73 hits, 9 HR, 41 RBI and 21 stolen bases during the 2025 season— showing both power and speed at the plate.
This summer with the Tucson Saguaros, Jacob continued to show outstanding performance!
Ethan Ott
Ethan Ott dominated at UNC Pembroke, earning Conference Carolinas Freshman of the Year and All-Conference honors while hitting .374 with 14 doubles, 9 homers, and 57 RBIs. He then crushed it at the University of New Mexico, posting a .363 average with 16 homers and 58 RBIs this past season. Over the summer with the Frederick Keys, he continued to develop his game in the MLB Draft League.
Theo Bryant
After a standout career at Tennessee Tech, Theo appeared in 144 games, scoring 77 runs, collecting 108 hits, launching 16 home runs, and driving in 78 RBIs. He carried that momentum to Tulane University, where he posted a .311 batting average, .411 OBP, and .978 OPS with 6 home runs and earned AAC All-Tournament honors for his clutch performances.
Antonio Barranca
Antonio Barranca is officially back! We are thrilled to announce the re-signing of our powerhouse catcher for the upcoming season. In his time with us last year, Barranca was a dynamic force at the plate, mashing 4 home runs and driving in 15 RBIs in just 11 games. Get ready to launch into another season with the Voyagers!
Anthony Manisero
Anthony will join us after an incredible career at Molloy University, where he was one of the premier hitters in Division II. In his final season, he hit .424 with 73 hits, 9 homers, 56 RBIs, and 22 stolen bases, and earning All-American and ECC Player of the Year honors.
He also sharpened his game in summer ball with the Jersey Shore Stallions, where he continued to produce and develop against top competition.
Robert Kelley
After a standout college career at WVU Tech, highlighted by dominant outings including a 10-strikeout performance with 0 walks and 0 runs allowed, Kelley carried that momentum into the 2025 season with the Voyagers. He logged 30 appearances, posted a 3–2 record, threw 33 innings, and racked up 36 strikeouts while giving us consistent, competitive innings all summer long.
Kevin Worek
Kevin Worek was a reliable pitcher for Lock Haven, totaling 21 starts across the 2023 and 2024 seasons. In 2023, he emerged as a top strikeout threat with 64 punchouts, and in 2024 he maintained a perfect fielding percentage over 10 starts. His consistency on the mound defined his final two collegiate years before signing with the Voyagers. During the 2025 season with the Voyagers, Kevin posted a 4.50 ERA and averaged a strikeout per inning.
Aidan Redahan
Aidan joined us late last summer and immediately proved to be a valuable asset to the team. Before joining the Voyagers, he put up a historic final season at Central Connecticut State University, where he led the entire NCAA with a staggering .455 batting average and 2 hits per game! His dominance earned him the prestigious 2025 Northeast Conference (NEC) Player of the Year award, becoming the first player from his program to receive the honor in 15 years.
In just 27 games with us last season, Redahan proved his consistency with 20 hits and 10 RBIs.
Mitch Grannan
We are excited to welcome back another reliable arm to the bullpen: relief pitcher Mitch Grannan! He was a dependable presence for the Voyagers last season, posting a 4.11 ERA over 30 appearances and was a strikeout threat, fanning 34 batters in 35.0 innings pitched. While at Maryville College in 2023, he stood out by recording his best collegiate season with a 3.04 ERA and a team-high 63 strikeouts. We look forward to seeing his dominance continue at the Voyagers Stadium next year!
Josh Collett
Collett's journey is truly cosmic: After pitching 58.0 full innings as a starter for Belmont Abbey College in 2024, he joined us last summer and became a strikeout machine in relief, fanning 50 batters in 39.1 innings!
Anthony Swenda
With the Voyagers last season, Swenda tallied 39 RBI with 7 home runs, along with 17 doubles and 3 triples. Previous to the Voyagers, Swenda completed a dominant season at LSU-Shreveport with a .407 batting average! That incredible performance came during a historic year for LSUS, which achieved a perfect season and secured their first NAIA Title.
CJ Czerwinski
RHP CJ Czerwinski has RE-SIGNED with the Great Falls Voyagers after playing a key role in the Voyagers' 2025 rotation. At James Madison University CJ recorded 38 strikeouts over just 37 innings, achieving a career-high nine strikeouts in a single game! In 2024, with Gardner-Webb University, he struck out 52 batters in just 44 innings, ranking second on the pitching staff.
Sam Lavin
Sam Lavin has officially re-signed with the Great Falls Voyagers. He's bringing the heat back after delivering a stellar 64 innings on the mound last year and averaging 8+ strikeouts per game! The George Mason alum had a perfect record of 5-0 AND during his time at St. Olaf College, he led the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference in wins, strikeouts, and opponent batting average during his senior year.
Trey Cruz
The Voyagers are thrilled to announce the return of utility player Trey Cruz for the 2026 season! His 2025 campaign was stellar: he logged 73 hits in just 56 games with the Voyagers. Welcome back to Great Falls, Trey!
