Former Voyagers Now in Double A Ball
Andy Atwood and Hunter Dollander both at AA Birmingham Barons
Great Falls, MT - Two former Voyagers players are now playing Double A baseball in the White Sox Organization. Andy Atwood and Hunter Dollander played for the Voyagers at the end of the 2021 season and the beginning of the 2022 season. In 22 games for the Voyagers in 2022 Andy hit .337 with three home runs and 20 runs batted in. He was then promptly signed to a minor league deal with the Chicago White Sox. To finish out his 2022 campaign, Atwood played at Low-A Kannapolis and High-A Winston Salem and hit .260 with five home runs and had 17 runs batted in between the two teams. Atwood now has a chance to show case his talents in AA with the Birmingham Barons after being called up on April 11. He has yet to have an at bat, but we know great things are yet to come. Congratulations Andy!
Hunter Dollander, the other former Voyager, broke spring training with the AA Birmingham Barons. Dollander pitched in only two games for the Voyagers in 2022, but he posted a 1.29 ERA in 14 innings pitched. He struck out 12 batters and only allowed 2 earned runs during those games. Dollander was immediately picked up by the White Sox and signed to a minor league contract. Dollander pitched for AZL in Arizona, Low-A Kannapolis, and High-A Winston-Salem to finish out 2022. He went 7-4 and had a 3.68 ERA with 61 strikeouts. Dollander got his first start in AA on April 11. It did not go the way he or the Voyager faithful would have wanted, but we know he is a great pitcher and will turn things around. Congratulations Hunter!
